Louisiana Baptist Youth Encampment



Have there been times when you were so preoccupied with a problem that you didn't seem to be able to function? Have there been issues of your life that seem to dominate every waking thought?  If so, you have known anxiety. Anxiety will cause us to worry about a variety of problems that we are faced with in our lives. However, our theme for the next five years is “The Peace of God.” God’s peace transcends all understanding, and it guards our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus. This peace comes by us totally surrendering to God in all areas of our lives. Our theme scriptures are Philippians 4:6-9.


6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me--put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you," (NIV).
2016 – Praying for Peace v.6. These lessons will focus on how our youth must be able to define and understand the purpose of God’s peace in their daily walk with Him.
2017 – Proclaiming Peace v.7 These lessons will focus on how our youth will learn how to effectively share the message of God’s peace with others through evangelism, missions, & worship.
2018 – Perfecting Peace v.8. These lessons will focus on how our youth will learn how to let God perfect His peace in their daily lives. No matter what type of test, storm, or problems you will face, God’s peace will protect you and bless you with a testimony.
2019 – Practicing Peace v.9. These lessons will focus on how our youth must practice God’s peace by developing relationships with others in their homes, churches, and communities.
2020 – Protecting Peace v.9. These lessons will teach our youth about how God protects them with the power of His presence in our lives. No weapon formed against you shall prosper.

                   Our monthly lessons are centered on our theme.

T
he goal of the ministry is to strengthen the local youth department with the assistance of the State Convention, by providing training and leadership in the area of youth development.

The primary objective of the ministry is to encourage the study and memorization of key scriptures by youth at an early age. The memorization is encouraged through a series of tournaments staged across the state through which youth demonstrate bible knowledge as they have fun performing in skits, liturgical dances, talent, and many other activities. The purpose of the tournaments is bible memorization and familiarization. We are aware that simple memorization of scripture does not change people but it is the first step in discipleship, which is the aim of the ministry.The ministry provides a program of training for church youth leaders, curriculum materials for youth departments, and a year round program schedule which includes bible based tournaments, retreats, musicals and other gatherings

Our theme for 2017 is “Proclaiming The Peace of God” and our theme scripture is Philippians 4:6-7. As we start our season of ministry this year, let’s get ready to experience the peace of God in all areas of our lives. As youth and adults, the Devil will attack us in your homes, schools, churches, and in our communities in which you live. However, as we stature our minds and hearts with the Word of God, we will be reminded by the Holy Spirit that God’s peace passes all understanding. (read more)
